Inshore & Coastal (COMING SOON)
Half-Day Experiences Targeting Kelp Beds and Structure
Service Description
Southern California's coastline offers one of the most diverse saltwater fly fisheries in the country, and there's no better way to experience it than from the deck of our classic 1992 Grady-White Spirit 175. Thoughtfully restored and rigged specifically for fly fishing, the Dogtown skiff gives us the freedom to explore miles of productive coastline, kelp forests, rocky reefs, harbor edges, and hidden structure that simply can't be reached from shore. It's the perfect platform for covering water, adapting to changing conditions, and putting anglers in the best position to succeed. Every trip is built around what the season has to offer. Depending on the time of year, we'll target Calico Bass, Pacific Barracuda, Bonito, Halibut, Yellowtail, and other iconic Southern California gamefish. Whether we're making precision casts tight to kelp, hunting bait schools along the beaches, or exploring new stretches of coastline, every day is different and every trip is tailored to the conditions. Our charters are intentionally kept small to provide a personalized experience, allowing plenty of time for instruction, coaching, and learning throughout the day. Whether you're making your first cast in the salt or you're an experienced fly angler looking to unlock Southern California's coastal fishery, we'll help you fish confidently while sharing the knowledge, techniques, and local water that make this place so special. At Dogtown Fly Co., our goal isn't simply to catch fish—it's to introduce anglers to a side of Southern California that few people ever get to experience, one cast at a time.
